The Way Home CDA Inc. is a group of dedicated people fighting the battle against drug and alcohol abuse that has overtaken the lives of good people.

The Way Home CDA was founded in May 2017 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Dave and Denise Sayers have a heart for those in recovery and have been leading a recovery ministry at Real Life Ministries, a local church campus since 2010.  There is no question that God led them step-by-step to establish men’s recovery homes.  First came the duplex in 2017, then the 4-plex in 2021. They saw miracles that left no doubt God was in this, and He was and is leading them to continue reaching out to people trying to rebuild their lives.  When The Way Home CDA opened its doors, men struggling with drug and alcohol addictions found a stable home to work on their recovery and find their way back home.

Men who are accepted into one of the homes are required to attend recovery and church weekly at Real Life Ministries in Coeur d’Alene. They agree to abide by the 35 rules that ensure the houses run smoothly and safely. The ratio is one manager per 4 men that live on the premises and Dave is there almost daily to supervise and advise.  He encourages the men individually and spends time with the house managers.  With an average of 30 men, one-on-one discipleship is a constant.

Most men arrive with literally nothing but the clothes on their backs. They are provided with essentials and when available, given gift cards to local grocery and clothing stores. The Way Home provides bedding, towels, hygiene items, internet, phones with a month’s cell service, random drug-tests, friendship, and accountability. The men are required to find a job quickly and get on their feet. For those with a driver's license but no vehicle, two house cars have been donated that can be used to get to meetings, probation, and other outings. It is inspiring to see how the men help each other out daily and provide encouragement, accountability, and mentoring.

The Sayers receive calls daily from jails and prisons throughout Idaho, with requests for a bed at The Way Home CDA.  With no promotions or ads, the waiting list grows longer each day.   Many who come through have truly wanted to live a life without drugs, alcohol, and the horrid consequences of living this lifestyle.  These men are desiring change in their lives.  It is a joy to see what God is doing in and through these men and this ministry.
